I’m Joseph “Scott” Schlosser, owner of Maverick Ridge Solutions and a DOT-qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).

I work with employees and employers across DOT-regulated industries, including trucking, pipeline, maritime, transit, rail, and aviation, helping people navigate the DOT Return-to-Duty process after a drug or alcohol violation.

I bring more than 30 years of experience working with people, organizations, and difficult situations. My background includes public safety, leadership, substance use counseling, workforce development, employee assistance, higher education, and management. I spent much of my career working in public safety, where accountability, clear expectations, sound judgment, and public protection were part of the job every day.

That experience taught me something important: when people call a SAP, they usually do not need a lecture. They need someone who understands both safety and accountability, knows the regulations, answers the phone, explains the process in plain English, and tells them what comes next.

That is how I work.

I provide DOT SAP evaluations, education and/or treatment recommendations, follow-up evaluations, and guidance through the Return-to-Duty process under 49 CFR Part 40.

I also work with employers, DERs, safety professionals, C/TPAs, and other DOT-regulated organizations that need clear communication, timely documentation, and a SAP they can actually reach when questions come up.
